Holland America Line: ‘Supercruising: Life at Sea’
In collaboration with client Holland America Line, PR42 supported the development of an eight-part TV series, which aired on Channel 4 and E4.
Called ‘Supercruising: Life at Sea’ and produced by Crackit TV, it followed life onboard Holland America Line’s Pinnacle-class ships Rotterdam and Nieuw Statendam across three voyages, visiting destinations including the Panama Canal, Caribbean, South America, Canary Islands and North Africa. The line’s first UK homeport season from Dover in a decade also featured.
Viewers could additionally follow a variety of shore excursions, as guests explored itineraries over three continents.
The show was a ratings hit, with millions tuning in to discover more about Holland America Line’s ships and its itineraries.
PR42 was involved in every stage of development for the series, including:
* Relationship management between Crackit TV and Holland America Line
* Creating a location agreement (contract) for filming
* Advising on storylines and key elements to feature
* Hosting filming crews during production
* Advising on post-production edits
* Drafting press releases and organising media opportunities to highlight the series
As Jane Archer, Cruise Journalist, said: “’Supercruising: Life at Sea’ is the cruise documentary that’s worth watching throughout. It’s a really good portrayal of life on board.”
